After such a great turn out we are already considering a BBQ dinner on Labor Day to try and raise enough funds to pave our parking lot. Our Fire Department depends on the support of our members and neighbors and we are grateful for your efforts.

To our sponsors -- we cannot express our thanks enough. These include Tyson Foods, Daisy Manufacturing, George's, Highland Dairy, Arkansas Mobile Accessories, Linda's Country Store, Jiffy Quik, Prairie Creek Country Club, New Hope Animal Hospital, New Hope Boarding and Grooming, All Weather Heat and Air, South Town Sporting goods, and Splash and Dash.

We would like to thank Arkansas State Representative Cecile Bledsoe for taking time to come to the breakfast and visiting with us. Also, thanks to the Avoca FD for help loading the grills and also attending the Breakfast.

Excerpt from The Northwest Arkansas News-
Fire association to seek maintenance personnel, substation
By Kara Isham Staff Writer karai@nwanews.com

BENTONVILLE — The executive board of the Benton County Fire Protection Association approved a maintenance plan for county-owned fire equipment during its meeting Tuesday. Gerald Hodges, coordinator for the county’s Department of Emergency Management, said that according to the recommendation from the executive board, he is preparing an ordinance for the Quorum Court’s Personnel Committee requesting a county employee position for a service technician. With the technician’s ability to visit rural fire departments for routine maintenance and repairs, Hodges said, the departments will save on labor and transportation costs, with the departments only paying for materials. He said the departments will also save time for the volunteer firefighters who currently transport the vehicles to and from the station. Hodges said there are currently 71 county-owned vehicles in 25 rural fire departments. Besides doing preventative maintenance involving routine checkups, Hodges said, the technician will also be able to service vehicles that have broken down on the way to or from a fire call.
